She is an East Coast native, born and raised in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania (the Christmas City) currently living her best life in Santa Monica, CA.

The part that not enough people talk about…

It wasn’t all easy breezy. Alongside all the sparkle and shine was a woman struggling to stay afloat.

By the end of her first year in business, she had $800 left in her account…

Nina was a salon owner with $90K debt and almost had to close her business twice before year five. When the creditors started calling ready to remove all the salon furniture, the only option she had was to sell her home to KEEP, the salon business.

Nina was able to turn her business around, and from year six, saw a 20-30% growth year over year, and brought in an average of 17-23% profit. Her team grew exponentially, and when she eventually did sell her salon in 2016, it was because she wanted to… as the profit margin was at an all-time high.

Nina’s main goal is to support and share her mistakes so she can help YOU avoid them. Her mission as a mentor is to provide you with the skills needed to elevate and launch you to the next level.

ABOUT J LADNER

J Ladner spent over 15 years as a professional hair colorist, diving deep into the industry he loves. For eight years, Ladner owned a salon, leading a team and navigating the day-to-day challenges of running a business. He is passionate about creating beautiful hair, but the stress of inefficiency was overwhelming. He knew there had to be a better way to provide high-quality service without sacrificing time, profit, or his well-being.

Ladner shifted his focus to efficiency and precision and began developing techniques and systems that allowed him to deliver the same stunning results—only faster, with less stress and more impact. The journey transformed his business, his income, and his passion for the industry. Ladner realized that the key wasn’t just working harder; it was about working smarter. He began charging what his services were worth, cut down on wasted time, and developed a structure that gave him the freedom and confidence he was missing.

Ladner became the Chief Brand Ambassador for Oligo Professionnel, where he learned the power of teaching and sharing his methods with others. The position gave him the platform to connect with hairstylists across the country and understand their common struggles—being overworked, feeling undervalued, and lacking the tools to make meaningful changes. Ladner knew his story was not unique, and I was determined to turn his experience into a system that could help others thrive.

Ladner’s mission is to empower hairstylists to break free from old habits, reclaim their time, and increase their income. Through personalized coaching and hands-on classes, I’ve been able to help countless stylists find the same breakthroughs he experienced.

Learn from Ladner as he guides you through a journey of growth—one that’s not only about creating beautiful hair but also about creating a beautiful business and life. His approach isn’t just about mastering techniques; it’s about mastering the mindset needed to step into your power as a confident, well-paid stylist.

Learn more about Amanda Brown and her educational classes on The Lucid Network HERE.

ABOUT AMANDA BROWN

Amanda Brown is better known as @coiffurebyamandab on Instagram. Her followers enjoy watching not only her educational tips on business, French Haircutting and Balayage, but also her funny spin on the day-to-day life at the chair as a stylist.

Amanda grew up in the break room of the salon where her mom worked folding towels, sweeping hair, and cleaning product shelves at the age of 9 years old. Growing up in the salon environment made it an easy choice to take advantage of the Co-Op program offered during her junior and senior years of high school. She was able to go half the day to Cosmetology school off campus and half the day attending regular classes at her high school.

Living with ADHD and Dyslexia “regular” classes throughout school were very difficult for her to understand and lacked self-confidence. When it came to learning hands on and visually in beauty school, it was easy for her to pass tests and quizzes without any studying as beauty school “just came natural” to her.

At her high school graduation not only did she graduate with a high school diploma, she also graduated with a degree in Cosmetology and a career!

Fast forward 23 years and now Amanda is an independent salon owner. She has taken her knowledge from Dessage International (Paris France) and Jamison Shaw Academy (Atlanta Georgia) teaching French Haircutting.

In 2019, she was accepted to be a part of the SunlightsPro Artisan Team certified to teach Hand Painted Balayage using The SunlightsPro curriculum created by Candy Shaw aka “The Balaylama” and mentored under her meticulous care.

Amanda feels the best way to relate with her students is to still work at the chair. Serving guests and understanding how to wear all the different hats as an independent salon owner. She is truly passionate about helping other stylists elevate their craft.

About Lisa VanBockern.

Lisa VanBockern created and founded Skin Script Skin Care in 2007. Lisa began her education at Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ and began a career in accounting and computer information systems. At the age of 40, Lisa discovered the beauty industry and quickly re-careered as an aesthetician within the medspa industry. In her excitement she pre-ordered the Milady's Aesthetic textbook and read the entire textbook two weeks prior to the start of her aesthetic school. As an aesthetician she became passionate about designing products and procedures to truly create a difference on each individual client. Her passion was found!

After many years Lisa worked with a chemist designing products both for homecare and in the treatment room to achieve distinguishable results. She launched Skin Script in 2007 and took it to the aesthetic market in 2008. Skin Script soon became the "go to" product line for fruit-based enzymes. Her avenues of marketing included in-person product knowledge trainings and trade shows throughout the United States. Lisa's motto is "Education Will Set You Free" regardless of what industry you choose. Never stop learning. Never stop searching for your passion.
