Scholarship Description & Award Information
amika disrupted the hair industry more than a decade ago with salon professional products for all that were consciously created, affordable-luxury and encouraged self-expression. The name amika means “friend”, and we are on a mission to truly deliver on our promise of friend to all hair with products that make you feel good. All hair is welcome with 11 collections for every hair type, texture, and style. Climate-Neutral Certified, PCR packaging, Vegan, Cruelty-Free, and sustainably sourced, amika products are responsibly made.
Applicant Qualifications
- This scholarship is open to new or currently enrolled students in a cosmetology program that leads to licensure at an accredited school in the U.S.
- The applicant must be eighteen (18) years of age or older by the start date of the program at the accredited school/institution.
Application Requirements
1. Complete the online application and upload proof of enrollment for a cosmetology program. *
2. Submit a YouTube video (three-minute maximum) with a public link answering the following questions:
- The beauty industry is constantly evolving — what's a bold vision you have for your career, and how does this scholarship help you get there?
- Transparency and authenticity are core to who we are. Tell us about a moment you showed up as your true self, even when it was uncomfortable.
- Tell us about someone — famous or not — whose work in beauty inspires you to be outstanding at your craft. What specifically drives you to follow in their footsteps?
- Required: Please describe how receiving this scholarship would help address financial challenges and support your ability to continue your education.
Your video CAN NOT EXCEED THREE MINUTES! If your video is over the allotted time for this scholarship, it will NOT BE ELIGIBLE! Make sure to upload your video to YouTube and make a public link for judging.
