
Welcome to the Beauty Changes Lives Scholarship Application Portal!
Beauty Changes Lives uses a judging software to upload your application, documents and to facilitate the judging process.
If you are applying for the first time, you will be asked to Sign Up in Submittable.
Once you are logged in follow the next steps for applying:
1. Click on the “Apply Now” button or blue arrow " > " if you're on a mobile device for the scholarship you wish to apply.
2. You will be asked several eligibility questions that pertain to the specific scholarship. If you receive an ineligibility message after submitting, it will direct you back to the Beauty Changes Lives scholarship site. Check to see if you may be eligible for another scholarship! We are updating new scholarships every season! Check out the calendar HERE.
3. If you are eligible, you will start the application process by filling in your contact, school information and demographics. Each scholarship asks for you to upload documents and submit a video for judging.
4. You can save a DRAFT at any time and come back and complete the application once you have all the items finalized for judging. Make sure to complete prior to the deadline date for that season or your submission will not be accepted.
5. Once you have provided the specific requirements, you can submit the application. You will receive a message showing you we have received your application. Your submission is now in the review stage.
6. You can always log back in to check on the status of the submission. Check out this helpful article on submission status.
7. If you have forgotten your login or password, follow the instructions HERE.
8. Be sure to give plenty of time to apply prior to the deadline. The sooner you submit, the reviewer has time to reach out to you and let you know if anything is missing or needs clarification. This will give you time to edit your submission prior to judging. Don’t wait until the last minute!
9. It takes a month after the deadline date to review, judge and announce the winners of the scholarships for each season. You will receive a notification regardless if you won.
10. Most of all when making your submission, HAVE FUN, show your personality, your creativity and your passion!

Dermalogica is continuing its support of the beauty industry by generously funding Esthetics Scholarship for the third year in a row. The Future Industry Professionals Esthetics Scholarship is open to students who are newly accepted or currently enrolled in an esthetics program at a Dermalogica partner school, and identify as Black, Indigenous and People of Color. The esthetics student scholarship will be awarded through Beauty Changes Lives.

Future Seasons
One (1) $5,000 for the Fall season, open September 1 – November 30, 2023.
Applicant Qualifications
· The applicants must identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color)
· Must be a currently enrolled (or a newly accepted student) in a Dermalogica partner school, leading to licensure in the U.S.
· The applicant must be eighteen (18) years of age or older by the start date of the program at the accredited school/institution.
Application Requirements
1. Complete online application and submit proof of enrollment from an esthetics program by uploading your: progress report, or official acceptance letter from a Dermalogica Partner school.
2. Submit a 3-minute maximum, YouTube video with a public link answering the following questions (if the video exceeds the 3-minute requirement the application will be declined):
- Describe how receiving this scholarship would impact your life. What are your short-term and long-term goals?
- Why is esthetics your passion? How has your experience with your own skin shaped your passion?
- How will you use your career in esthetics to benefit your community?

PCA SKIN® “Diversity in Esthetics” Student Scholarship requires the following qualifications to be eligible:
- This scholarship is available to either an ethnic minority (including but not limited to: Black or African American; Hispanic or Latino; Native American; Pacific Islander; or Asian);
- OR a person who identifies as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community;
- OR a person with a medically documented disability, as defined by the World Health Organization (WHO).
- This scholarship is open to new or currently enrolled students in an esthetics program that leads to licensure at an accredited school in the U.S at a PCA SKIN® Partner School. *
- The applicant must be eighteen (18) years of age or older by the start date of the program at the accredited school or institution.
- In some financial need (i.e. not receiving a full or partial scholarship(s) and/or grant(s) that cover and/or exceed one’s educational expenses).
- Willingness to allow PCA SKIN® to use his/her/their name, photo, and/or story in future scholarship materials, company communications, and social media channels.

Green Circle Salons' - "Environmental Beauty" for all disciplines in the professional beauty industry that leads to licensure. This scholarship is open to accepted or currently enrolled cosmetology and barbering students in an accredited school or institution for the 2023-2024 programs and will be awarded through the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation.

Two (2) $4,000 Scholarships will be available for the Summer 2023 season which is open from June 1 – August 31, 2023.

Two (2) $4,000 Scholarships will be available for the Winter 2024 season which is open from December 1 – February 28, 2024.
Scholarship Description & Award Information
The Beauty Industry creates 877 lbs. of waste per minute! Green Circle Salons’ is a movement to empower salons to offset their emissions and recover 95% of their beauty waste. GCS has been building a network of more than 16,000 Waste Warriors, schools and advanced academies throughout North America and providing them with a comprehensive pathway to financial and environmental sustainability with a green business program. Today, GCS Has diverted almost 8 ½ million pounds of waste from landfill spaces and waterways since 2009.
Applicant Qualifications
- Must be a new or currently enrolled student in a cosmetology or barbering program in an accredited school or institution in the U.S. or Canada.
- The applicant must be eighteen (18) years of age or older by the start date of the program at the accredited school or institution.
Application Requirements
- Complete online application and submit proof of enrollment in a cosmetology or barbering program by uploading your: progress report, or official acceptance letter from the school.
- Submit a 3-minute maximum, YouTube video with a public link answering the following questions:
- Describe why environmental sustainability is important and what it means to you.
- How important is it to you to work in a certified sustainable salon after graduation? Why?

L’Oréal Professionnel LGBTQIA+ Cosmetology Student Scholarship
At L’Oréal Professionnel, we believe that education is the most powerful tool to grow, inspire and develop hair artists of tomorrow. Our values of inspiring education, creating trends and pioneering research showcase that we continue to live by our brand mission of empowering and standing for Pros’. The scholarship awards up to $5,000 in tuition funding for students enrolled or accepted in a cosmetology program at any accredited institution.

- This scholarship is open to new or currently enrolled students in a cosmetology program that leads to licensure at an accredited school/institution in the United States.
- This scholarship is open to anyone who identifies as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community.

European Wax Center’s “Experts in Wax” Cosmetology or Esthetics Student Scholarship

And at the very heart of this, is our Wax Specialist, whose training, skill, and knowledge elevate and enhance the guest experience.
We’re committed to discovering and refining the kind of talent needed to become a great Wax Specialist—because great Wax Specialists and their expertise help our guests reveal beautiful skin and feel like their true selves.
Because we believe the right education is key, European Wax Center is partnering with Beauty Changes Lives to offer the “Experts in Wax” Scholarship, which is intended to provide an educational opportunity for all current or newly enrolled students of an esthetics or cosmetology program at an accredited school in the U.S. to help offset the cost of tuition. These scholarships help the recipients refine their skills, embrace a career in the personal care industry and become the experts we know they can be so they can help bring out the confidence in their clients.

Application Requirements
European Wax Center’s “Experts in Wax” Scholarship requires the following requirements to be eligible:
- Complete online application and submit proof of enrollment for a cosmetology or esthetics program by uploading your: acceptance letter, progress report, or official letter from your school.
- Submit a 2-minute (maximum length) YouTube video with a public link answering the following questions:
- What does it mean to inspire confidence in someone?
- How will receiving this scholarship impact your life?

Arnie M. Miller had a “Find-A-Way” Attitude in business and his life. Whatever the challenge, he always found a “way to make it happen”! “Can’t do” wasn’t in his vocabulary. If you have a “Find-A-Way Attitude” in your life and career, this is the scholarship for you.

- This Scholarship is open to new and current students enrolled in a cosmetology program to qualify for these scholarships.
- Students must provide proof of acceptance and/or proof of attendance at an accredited school or institution.
- The applicant must be eighteen (18) years of age or older by the start date of the program at the accredited school or institution.
Application Requirements
- Application must include three (3) photos of your artistic work on a mannequin, client or friends and family showing your creative abilities.
- Submit a 3-minute MAXIMUM, YouTube video with a public link answering the following questions:
- Describe your creative vision for the photos of your work.
- Tell us about a time that you exhibited a “Find-A-Way Attitude” where you had to think outside of the box to solve a problem or achieve a goal.
- Tell us why having a “Find-A-Way Attitude” will help advance your cosmetology career.

The “Art of Haircutting” scholarship is for students that love hair cutting, the true architecture aspect of cosmetology. Show our judges your three favorite haircuts for a chance to win this exciting scholarship category.

Haircoloring is one of the most creative and exciting services salons offer. It’s also a great way to express your creative vision and artistic skills. This scholarship is for students that love hair coloring. Show our judges your three (3) favorite hair coloring techniques for a chance to win this scholarship category.

- This scholarship is open to new or currently enrolled students in an esthetics program that leads to licensure at an accredited school/institution in the United States.

- Application must include two (2) before-and-after photos of an esthetics treatment, make-up application, or eyebrow cleanup.
- Submit a 3-minute maximum, YouTube video with a public link answering the following questions:
- Please describe your creative vision for the photos of your work and why esthetics is your passion.
- Tell us about the moment when you were absolutely certain that a career in esthetics was your calling. What challenges did you overcome to get here?
