The New Beginnings Esthetics Scholarship is open to students who are newly accepted or currently enrolled in an esthetics program at a Dermalogica partner school, and identify as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. The esthetics student scholarship will be awarded through Beauty Changes Lives.

Green Circle 


Green Circle Salons - "Environmental Beauty" for cosmetology and barbering students in the professional beauty industry that leads to licensure. This scholarship is open to currently enrolled cosmetology and barbering students in an accredited school or institution for the 2022 programs and will be awarded through the Beauty Changes Lives Organization.

Two (2) $4,000 Scholarships will be available for the Summer 2022 season which is open from June 1 – August 31, 2022.

Three (3) $4,000 Scholarships will be available for the Fall 2022 season which is open from September 1 – November 30, 2022.

Scholarship Description & Award Information

The Beauty Industry creates 877 lbs. of waste per minute! Green Circle Salons is a movement to empower salons and beauty professionals to offset their carbon emissions and recover up to 95% of their beauty waste. Green Circle Salons has been building a network of more than 16,000 Waste Warriors, schools and advanced academies throughout Canada and the United States and providing them with a comprehensive pathway to financial and environmental sustainability with a green business program. Today, Green Circle Salons has diverted almost 8 ½ million pounds of waste from landfill spaces and waterways since 2009.

Applicant Qualifications

  • Must be a new or currently enrolled student in a cosmetology or barbering program in an accredited school or institution in the U.S. or Canada.

European Wax Center’s “Experts in Wax” Cosmetology or Esthetics Scholarship -  Summer 2022

Kate Somerville Skin Health Experts is committed to supporting Californian foster youth as they age out of the system-- providing resources, professional training, and mentorship to help make their dreams possible.

Having grown up in a home impacted by addiction, brand founder Kate knows firsthand the challenges young people face when one or both parents are unable to care for their family. As a teen, Kate left home, moving in with friends and sleeping on couches as she tried to find her way in the world. Kate’s life changed when she found a mentor who gave her unconditional love and support. She also taught her the value of believing in yourself. Kate knows how hard it is to find your place in the world without the security of family. She knows the power of having a helping hand and support at that critical age and personifies what’s possible when young adults have someone to believe in them. She recognizes the transformative power a career in the beauty industry had on her life - and is passionate about leveraging her platform to positively impact the lives of foster youth aging out of the system so they can pursue their dreams and make the impossible - possible.

Kate Somerville Skin Health Experts is partnering with Foster Nation to support foster youth as they age out of the system -- providing resources, professional training, and mentorship. As part of this partnership, the Kate Somerville + Foster Nation “Defy Impossible” Esthetics scholarship supports professional beauty career paths for foster youth. This scholarship is open to individuals aging out, or who have already aged out, of the foster care system and who are new or currently enrolled in an esthetics program at a recognized school. In addition to funding this scholarship, there may be opportunities for training at a Kate Somerville Skin Health Experts Clinic with a licensed skin therapist.

Jerry Alexander Gorman lived a life dedicated to his passion for the professional beauty industry. As a young man, with a new family to support, he took evening classes to become a licensed cosmetologist, while working full-time during the day. His perseverance for success did not stop there. After working for years as a hairdresser, he soon opened his first salon, and many years later became a national sales manager for a major manufacturer of salon and home beauty products. After years of experience, he channeled his love for the industry and decided to give back by becoming a successful and beloved educator.

In that spirit, his family formed the Jerry Alexander Gorman Foundation in his memory in 2015. The foundation was created with its main emphasis on awarding scholarships for students, specifically to those living in lower income families, to support their education to any discipline within the professional beauty industry.

One (1) Tuition Scholarship, up to $15,000

Summer 2022 season open from June 1, 2022 - August 31, 2022.

Qualifications:

  • This Scholarship is open to new and current students enrolled in a cosmetology program to qualify for these scholarships.
  • Students must provide proof of acceptance and/or proof of attendance at an accredited school or institution.

OPI's "Round Yourself in Color" scholarship will be awarded through the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation and is open to newly accepted or currently enrolled students in a nail technology program that leads to licensure in the U.S. or Canada.

The OPI “Round Yourself in Color” Student Scholarship applicant qualifications are:

· Must be a new or currently enrolled student in a nail technology program from an accredited school/institution within the U.S. and Canada.

· The applicant must be eighteen (18) years of age or older by the start date of the program.

Application Requirements

1. Complete online application and submit proof of enrollment / acceptance in a nail technology program. You must upload either an enrollment document, official acceptance letter, or progress report from the school.

2. Submit a 3-minute maximum, YouTube video with a public link answering the following questions (if the video exceeds the 3-minute requirement the application will be declined):

  • Name a nail art beauty influencer that inspires you; how do you hope to inspire the next generation of nail artists?
  • How will OPI’s “Round Yourself in Color” scholarship help you achieve your goals?
  • If you could name a future, best-selling OPI lacquer that would describe your best self - what would it be – use your imagination!

The KUPA name has been synonymous with high-quality electric nail filing equipment since the machine was developed in 1984. KUPA continues to create and launch proprietary products that meet the needs of nail technicians and makes their life more convenient, portable, safe, and cost-effective.  KUPA is committed to developing education that will improve the nail professional’s business and their nail filing expertise.

Each company, rich in history and dedicated to supporting the Nail Professional throughout their career, decided to lead the charge in developing scholarships for those entering the professional beauty industry and to inspire working nail professionals looking to develop their skills.  To make sure the scholarships were properly funded, the following brands generously agreed to contribute to the I ❤️ NAILS Scholarship Program.

  • What made you decide this is your passion and give reasons why you are choosing this career path?
  • Explain why you believe that continuing education is important in your development, even after you have obtained your license?
  • Nail professionals are artists that work on tiny canvases. Provide an example of your work and explain why your design symbolizes you.

I ❤️ NAILS Master Nail Technology Advanced Scholarship applicant qualifications are:

  • Must be currently licensed by a state authority as a current and up to date on licensure Nail Technician or certified in as a nail technician in the U.S. and Canada.
  • The applicant must be eighteen (18) years of age or older to be eligible for the scholarship.
  • The scholarship may be used for tuition costs and travel expenses for advanced education and training.

Application Requirements

I ❤️ NAILS Master Nail Technology Advanced Scholarship applicant requirements are:

  1. Complete online application and submit proof of licensure as a Nail Professional within your residing state or proof of employment or certification in Canada.
  2. Submit a 3-minute maximum, YouTube video with a public link answering the following questions:
  • What made you decide this career is your passion and give reasons why you chose this as your desired path?
  • Explain why education is the key to continued success within the professional beauty industry? What advanced training interests you and why?
  • How can you give back to the next generation?
