Welcome to the Beauty Changes Lives Scholarship Application Portal!

Beauty Changes Lives uses a judging software to upload your application, documents and to facilitate the judging process.

If you are applying for the first time, you will be asked to Sign Up in Submittable.

Once you are logged in follow the next steps for applying:

1. Click on the “Apply Now” button or blue arrow " > " if you're on a mobile device for the scholarship you wish to apply.

2. You will be asked several eligibility questions that pertain to the specific scholarship. If you receive an ineligibility message after submitting, it will direct you back to the Beauty Changes Lives scholarship site. Check to see if you may be eligible for another scholarship! We are updating new scholarships every season!  Check out the calendar HERE.

3. If you are eligible, you will start the application process by filling in your contact, school information and demographics. Each scholarship asks for you to upload documents and submit a video for judging.

4. You can save a DRAFT at any time and come back and complete the application once you have all the items finalized for judging. Make sure to complete prior to the deadline date for that season or your submission will not be accepted.

5. Once you have provided the specific requirements, you can submit the application.  You will receive a message showing you we have received your application. Your submission is now in the review stage.

6. You can always log back in to check on the status of the submission. Check out this helpful article on submission statuses.

7. If you have forgotten your login or password, follow the instructions HERE.

8. Be sure to give plenty of time to apply prior to the deadline. The sooner you submit, the reviewer has time to reach out to you and let you know if anything is missing or needs clarification.  This will give you time to edit your submission prior to judging. Don’t wait until the last minute!

9. It takes a month after the deadline date to review, judge and announce the winners of the scholarships for each season.  You will receive a notification regardless if you won.

10. Most of all when making your submission, HAVE FUN, show your personality, your creativity and your passion!

Dermalogica is continuing its support of the beauty industry by generously funding Esthetics Scholarship for the third year in a row. · The applicants must identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color)
· Must be a currently enrolled (or a newly accepted student) in a Dermalogica partner school, leading to licensure in the U.S.
· The applicant must be eighteen (18) years of age or older by the start date of the program at the accredited school/institution.

Application Requirements
1. Complete online application and submit proof of enrollment from an esthetics program by uploading your: progress report, or official acceptance letter from a Dermalogica Partner school.
2. Submit a 3-minute maximum, YouTube video with a public link answering the following questions (if the video exceeds the 3-minute requirement the application will be declined):

L’Oréal Professionnel prides itself on demonstrating one of their core values to support diversity and equality within the hairdressing profession, the scholarship awards up to $5,000 in tuition funding for students enrolled or accepted in a cosmetology program at any accredited institution whose service demonstrates a commitment to justice, equity, and diversity.

This scholarship will be offered annually to those interested in a career in the professional beauty industry. In addition, each winner is eligible to be included into a mentoring / coaching program designed for cosmetology students during their time in school and for 1 year POST Graduation.

The Empowering Diversity Scholarship is dedicated to the memory of Sheena Coleman, a much-loved member of the L’Oréal Professionnel Education Team who sadly passed away in 2020. Kate Somerville Skin Health Experts is committed to supporting Californian foster youth as they age out of the system-- providing resources, professional training, and mentorship to help make their dreams possible.
Having grown up in a home impacted by addiction, brand founder Kate knows firsthand the challenges young people face when one or both parents are unable to care for their family. As a teen, Kate left home, moving in with friends and sleeping on couches as she tried to find her way in the world. Kate’s life changed when she found a mentor who gave her unconditional love and support. She also taught her the value of believing in yourself. Kate knows how hard it is to find your place in the world without the security of family. She knows the power of having a helping hand and support at that critical age and personifies what’s possible when young adults have someone to believe in them. Kate Somerville Skin Health Experts is partnering with Foster Nation to support foster youth as they age out of the system -- providing resources, professional training, and mentorship. As part of this partnership, the Kate Somerville + Foster Nation “Defy Impossible” Esthetics scholarship supports professional beauty career paths for foster youth. This scholarship is open to individuals aging out, or who have already aged out, of the foster care system and who are new or currently enrolled in an esthetics program at a recognized school. In addition to funding this scholarship, there may be opportunities for training at a Kate Somerville Skin Health Experts Clinic with a licensed skin therapist.

The Jerry Alexander Gorman Foundation “The Passion to Succeed” Cosmetology, Hair Design or Barbering Student Scholarship 

Jerry Alexander Gorman lived a life dedicated to his passion for the professional beauty industry. As a young man, with a new family to support, he took evening classes to become a licensed cosmetologist, while working full-time during the day. His perseverance for success did not stop there. After working for years as a hairdresser, he soon opened his first salon, and many years later became a national sales manager for a major manufacturer of salon and home beauty products. After years of experience, he channeled his love for the industry and decided to give back by becoming a successful and beloved educator. 

In that spirit, his family formed the Jerry Alexander Gorman Foundation in his memory in 2015. The foundation was created with its main emphasis on awarding scholarships for students, specifically to those living in lower income families, to support their education to any discipline within the professional beauty industry. 

Scholarship Description & Award Information 

The Jerry Alexander Gorman Foundation “The Passion to Succeed” Student Scholarship was formed to support those in need to achieve their goal of becoming a licensed professional. The scholarship will be awarded through the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation and is open to newly accepted or currently enrolled students in a cosmetology, hair design  or barbering that leads to licensure in the U.S.

  • This scholarship is open to new or currently enrolled students in a cosmetology, hair design or barbering program that leads to licensure at an accredited school in the U.S.

After years of experience, he channeled his love for the industry and decided to give back by becoming a successful and beloved educator.

In that spirit, his family formed the Jerry Alexander Gorman Foundation in his memory in 2015. The foundation was created with its main emphasis on awarding scholarships for students, specifically to those living in lower income families, to support their education to any discipline within the professional beauty industry.

Scholarship Description & Award Information

The Jerry Alexander Gorman Foundation “The Passion to Succeed” Student Scholarship was formed to support those in need to achieve their goal of becoming a licensed professional. The scholarship will be awarded through the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation and is open to newly accepted or currently enrolled students in an esthetics or nail technology program that leads to licensure in the U.S.

One (1) $3,500 Scholarships
Scholarship submissions will be accepted during the Spring 2023 season from March 1 - May 31, 2023.

Applicant Qualifications

  • Must be a newly accepted or currently enrolled student in an esthetics or nail technology program that leads to licensure in the U.S. 
  • The applicant must be eighteen (18) years of age or older by the start date of the program at the accredited school/institution.

Application Requirements

  1. Complete online application and submit proof of enrollment / acceptance in an esthetics or nail technology program at an accredited school or institution. You must upload either an enrollment document, official acceptance letter, or progress report from your school.
  2. Submit a three-minute maximum YouTube video with a public link answering the following questions:

  • Jerry Gorman had a passion for the industry, and he overcame many obstacles to make his dream a reality. What obstacles have you faced on your journey?
  • Why do you want to make a career in the professional beauty industry? What part of the industry drives your passion? What made you choose this profession?
  • What financial constraints have affected your ability to follow your dream? How will this scholarship be beneficial to your success?

  • Name a nail art beauty influencer that inspires you; how do you hope to inspire the next generation of nail artists?

Circadia® The Sage Michaela Lucas “Timing is Everything” Esthetics Student Scholarship

The Sage Michaela Lucas “Timing is Everything” scholarship is generously funded by Circadia®, a pioneer in the science of chronobiology and skincare. Circadia® is again generously donating a total of $50,000 in Esthetics Scholarships for the Spring and Fall Season for the next two years. The Sage Michaela Lucas “Timing is Everything” award celebrates diversity, inclusivity, and affirmation. 

The scholarship is open to esthetics students enrolled in an accredited program and who identify as black, indigenous and people of color (BIPOC). The scholarship grant targets esthetic students pursuing a career in aesthetics, skincare formulation and/or cosmetic chemistry. 

 Award Amount | # of Recipients 

$10,000 total awards for 2023  

· Two (2) $5,000 for the Spring season, open March 1 – May 31, 2023. 

Each awardee will receive the following:

  • Mentorship program that includes a one-hour call each month to discuss business proposals, financial overview, skincare products and services etc.
  • Invitation and all-expense paid trip to attend Circadia’s Annual Gala the year recipient receives scholarship, and a lifetime invitation for future Gala events.

 Applicant Qualifications

· The applicants must identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color)

· Must be a currently enrolled (or a newly accepted student) in a in an esthetics program that leads to licensure in the U.S. or Canada.

· The applicant must be eighteen (18) years of age or older by the start date of the program at the accredited school/institution. 

Application Requirements

1. Complete online application and submit proof of enrollment from an esthetics program by uploading your: progress report, or official acceptance letter from an accredited school/institution. 

2. Submit a 3-minute maximum, YouTube video with a public link answering the following questions (if the video exceeds the 3-minute requirement the application will be declined): 

  • If you were to win this scholarship, how do you plan to “pay it forward” once they have entered the industry to inspire the next generation of BIPOC hopefuls who have similar goals?
  • Name a person in the beauty industry that you know personally or follow-on social media that motivates you or positively impacts you to stay committed to your dreams despite obstacles. Explain what is it about their story that gives you the most hope in your own career?
  • Describe challenges you have overcome or life changing situations that turned to valuable lessons. What did you learn about yourself and how did you grow from these situations?

Davianne Beepot is a National Business Development Manager & Diamond Educator for Circadia Skincare. She is also the mentor of the Sage Michaela Lucas “Timing is Everything” scholarship. Davianne is a licensed paramedical esthetician, business coach, and consultant passionate about making an impact through skincare. She has educated for various companies including the Aveda Institute of Esthetics and owns Skin Revision by Davianne, a skincare treatment and training center where her signature services can be found in Jacksonville, FL.

As a widowed mother of three young boys, Davianne knows firsthand the true importance of having a successful business and career. Davianne now pays it forward by helping individuals and companies grow and expand by rising above their limitations.
